Blue Ridge Bicycles offers a wide selection of bicycles for different people and uses. We provide expert assistance in selecting the proper bike type and model. Bicycles come in different sizes. And they’re very adjustable. We find the right frame size for you and then dial in the fit by positioning the seat and handlebars, brake levers and shifters as required. This ensures comfort and that you’re incomplete control of your bike for safety. Our goal is to make your new bike as comfortable to ride and as easy to pedal as possible. We have years of experience in fitting bikes to riders.
You might be surprised to learn that bicycles are not completely assembled at the factory. It’s true. They’re actually delivered to us disassembled and in a box, and we spend about an hour (depending on the model) assembling, tuning and testing every bike. Our technicians are always prepared to make adjustments and provide advice should you need assistance during a purchase or after a sale.
We’re staffed by knowledgeable and enthusiastic cyclists who love to share their expertise. Need to learn how to shift, fix a flat, carry gear, or pump up your tires? Want to find the best places to ride or friends to pedal with? Just ask, and we’ll be more than happy to help.
Bicycles are machines that require maintenance. One of the most important services is the first tune-up, which is due after you’ve ridden your new bike for a few weeks. During this time, cables might stretch, spokes may loosen and adjustments could change. For your new bike to ride right and last as long as possible, we like to see every bicycle we sell back here in the store for a free tune up. We stand behind every bike we sell. If something goes wrong, bring it in and we’ll be happy to help you!
We recommend a tune up once a year on every bike at a MINIMUM…if you ride a lot you might need more than one tune up a year! A tune up on a bike is a lot like an oil change in a car… it needs to be done after a certain amount of mileage. Tune ups should be considered every 6 months or so on a bike that is used often. Tune ups keep your bike safe and reliable!
Overhauls completely recondition your bike. If your bike is SO grimy and dirty that a tune up will be ineffective, then you need an OVERHAUL. If you have premium equipment, overhauls are recommended more often, about once a year, to keep your bike and its gear in that premium class! We do partial overhauls and Drivetrain overhauls more often than complete overhauls. If your bike is tired, dirty and sad looking an overhaul will breath new life into it!
We do FREE estimates and safety checks anytime…If you are In Doubt…get your bike down to the shop and we will inspect it for you!
